Ken Fiedler

Greensboro, Georgia

Ken is a native of Maryland but grew up outside of Atlanta.  His love of the outdoors was matched only by his love of aviation.  As a Scout and Civil Air Patrol cadet he spent much of his youth in the north Georgia and North Carolina mountains, highlighted by rappelling off a 750ft cliff on Whiteside Mountain and running Bull Sluice rapids on the Chattooga River. Ken finds himself back in Georgia after a 23 year Air Force career, culminating in service as an airline pilot based in Atlanta.  Ironically, his favorite airline overnight is Asheville, where Southwings has a significant presence.  His wife Carol is a newly retired OB/GYN, and their blended family is way smarter than Ken but he remains the only one who can tie knots and start a campfire on a damp day.  Ken is eager to learn more about current issues with the environment, and looks forward to serving Southwings using his trusty Grumman Cheetah, in which he has over 2000 hours.
