Dan Luke lives in Daphne, AL, across the bay from Mobile. He’s lived there since 1990, having moved from his hometown of Houston, TX for a job transfer. He enjoys spending time with his grown daughter (Frances) and a Grandson (Vaughn) who will be 6 in June.
Presently he is co-owner of Walters Controls, Inc., a business he started with his partner in 1995. They design and install automatic control systems for air conditioning and heating in commercial buildings, hospitals, schools and military bases.
Dan has been flying for ten years and has a Private Pilot, Airplane, Single Engine, Land certificate with an instrument rating (IFR). He flies over one hundred hours a year for business and pleasure and enjoys volunteer missions for Angel Flight and SouthWings. Currently he has about 1150 hours logged.
Nature conservation is very important to Dan and he is excited about the chance to fly for SouthWings. He says, “I look forward to having some fun and interesting flights.” Dan joined SouthWings in April 2007 and did his first mission on April 22.
Dan no longer flies for SouthWings; however, his years of dedicated service have earned him Honorary Emeritus status.
