SouthWings is honored to have been named to Georgia Water Coalition's Clean 13 Report! The report highlights extraordinary efforts on the part of businesses, industries, local governments, non-profit organizations, and individuals to protect the water and natural resources of Georgia.
Flying above all this action on the ground is SouthWings, an Asheville, North Carolina-based non-profit that provides free flights to environmental organizations in Georgia. In 2019, SouthWings’ volunteer pilots flew 29 missions totaling some 87 hours of flight time. The flights served to educate decision makers and the public about issues impacting our water, ranging from coal ash disposal to oil spills along the coast.
